The AmberVision Preview File Suite is a collection of Macintosh utilities for quickly viewing thumbnail previews of the contents of documents. Drag & Drop documents into Preview File or view previews when opening files within many popular applications. With Preview File you can view larger previews, for many file formats: PICT, Movie, GIF, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, Targa, SGI, Photoshop, PNG, MacPaint, QuickDraw 3D, QuickDraw GX, QuickTime Image and more.
Macintosh System Requirements
Preview File requires Mac OS version 7.5 or later, and QuickTime. Creating previews for some file formats, such as BMP, TIFF, and Photoshop requires QuickTime version 3.0 or later.
Installation
Double-click the “Install Preview File” icon to run the installer.
Note: If AppleScript is not installed on your system, or is disabled, you will need to perform a manual install. To perform a manual installation, do the following:
1) Place the “Preview File” application into the Apple Menu Items folder inside your System Folder.
2) Place the “Preview Extension” extension into the Extensions folder inside your System Folder.
3) Place the “Preview Settings” control panel into the Control Panels folder inside your System Folder.
4) Restart your computer.
Using Preview File
To view file previews, select Preview File from the Apple menu; drag documents from the Finder into the Preview window. The functionality for creating enhanced previews is automatically enabled for applications that show QuickTime previews when opening files.
Here are some tips for using Preview File:
• Use the Preview Settings control panel to set the size of thumbnails created
• Double-click the thumbnail in the Preview window to open the document being previewed
• Use items in the File menu or their keyboard equivalents to perform common Finder operations
• Use the left and right arrow keys to preview the previous or next file in a folder
• Drag the results of a Sherlock/Find File search into the Preview window
• Drag the thumbnail from the Preview window to move the document or copy it to another disk
Known Issues
• If AppleScript is disabled, the File menu functions will not work properly.
• If Drag & Drop is disabled, dragging operations will not work properly.
Shareware Registration
The AmberVision Preview File Suite is shareware. You may use it for 15 days without any charge. After 15 days, you must register your shareware by sending AmberVision Computer Design a $20 registration fee. A Site License is available for $400 covering all locations for your organization within a 160 kilometer radius of your site (100 miles). A World-Wide License is also available for $1,600 covering all locations for your organization planet-wide.
Registration fees are handled by the Kagi payment processing service. Payments are accepted by Credit Card, First Virtual, Cash, and USD Check. When paying by Credit Card, payments can be made online using a web browser. When paying by Credit Card or First Virtual, payments can be made via fax or email.
To pay your registration fee, use the Register application included with Preview File. Enter your name, email address and number of licenses you wish to purchase. Save, Copy, or Print the data from the Register program and send the data to Kagi.

Postal Mail: To mail payments (REQUIRED for Cash and USD Check), Print the form from the Register application and send it with your payment. Invoice: AmberVision and Kagi can not invoice your company, but if you have a purchasing department, you can submit an invoice on behalf of AmberVision Computer Design to have your accounts payable staff pay the registration fees. Use the Register application and select Invoice as the payment method. Print 3 copies of the form, and highlight or underline the sentence “You must include a copy of this invoice with your payment.” Send the printed forms to your accounts payable department.
Processing Time: Payments processed online are processed within 48 hours. Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. Payments sent via fax or postal mail are processed within 10 days after they are received. Remember that postal mail can take some time to arrive, especially if you are sending from outside the USA. Once your payment is processed, Kagi will send you an email acknowledgement. Three to 10 days after your payment is processed, AmberVision Computer Design will send you an email containing your serial number(s).

License and Distribution
This is copyrighted software. The software is owned by AmberVision Computer Design and is protected by United States copyright laws and international treaty provisions. You may use this software for 15 days without any charge. If you would like to continue to use the software after this evaluation period, forward your license fee to AmberVision Computer Design.
Paying the Single User License fee allows you the right to use one copy of the software on a single computer for each Single User License purchased. You may not network the software or otherwise use it or make it available for use on more than one computer at the same time under the Single User License. Paying the Site License fee allows the right for current employees of licensing company to use a copy of the software at company operated locations within a 160 kilometer radius (100 miles) of the registration address. Paying the World-Wide license fee allows the right for current employees of licensing company to use a copy of the software at any company operated location.
You may not rent or lease the software, nor may you modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software. If you violate any part of this agreement, your right to use this software terminates automatically and you must then destroy all copies of this software in your possession.
You may not distribute this software or related documents individually. You may distribute the original archive containing all the software and related document free of charge for non-commercial purposes.
